I grew up here. I rode the pro circuit. And when I teach, it's not a lesson. It's an experience with Rafa. We have fun. We build trust. That's when people actually learn.
Progression Sessions
Forget the group clinic on the beach. This is one on one, dialed in, and actually fun. You'll leave knowing more about your riding and probably having the best day of your trip.

Cabarete runs on wind and salt water. It's a kite town. Has been for thirty years.
Good to Know
Cabarete Kite Beach is home base. Perfect wind, good community. For day trips chasing flat water, we head down to Puerto La Boca. Or, if you are looking for a completely off-the-grid, multi-day experience, we can pack up and hit Playa Buen Hombre.
I rent out the latest Cabrinha setups for students. If you have your own kit, definitely bring it. Bag fees are often way less than multi-day rentals, and there is nothing better than riding your own equipment. If the wind changes and you need a different size kite or board while you are here, do not worry. I have got your back!
Fly into Puerto Plata (POP) or Santiago (STI). I can organize trusted airport pickups for you. Cabarete has everything from beachfront condos to chill surf hostels. Let me know your vibe and I will point you to the right spots. Rental cars or local motos are easy to arrange once you are here.
We get amazing wind almost every day year-round. Winter runs Dec to April, solid wind and great swell for wave riding. Summer is May to Aug, prime for consistent thermals. Wind is not the problem here. It never has been.
